CHAPTER 8 FINDING HIS DARLING

In the midst of life's adversity and despair, there is a glimmer of hope that comes to Perry. While he was still lying helpless in the hospital, his fellow nurses came to visit him one after another. There are those who are sympathetic, there are those who are mocking, and various other attitudes. Of the many different colleagues who came over, there was one who was different, a female nurse.

She is Leries Nurhayati Sitorus. When she comes, she always acts like a nurse looking after Perry. He doesn't tease, and doesn't joke about his situation, like most of his colleagues. He also usually comes at different times to other colleagues.

During her visit she often helped Perry to eat, or tidy up around the bed, even though she was not the nurse on duty in the ward where he was being treated. Not only that. Leries also often speaks encouraging and encouraging words.

Apparently Leries realized that what made Perry sick was a state of despair, without enthusiasm and without hope. That's why he often gives encouragement and encouragement. Even though she was still a nursing student, she never showed a light-hearted attitude. Because of the special attention that Leries gave him, Perry felt a connection that was more than just that between a nurse and a patient.

He was aware that Leries had a crush on him, but his logic at that moment overruled his inner voice. He felt that it was impossible for a good nurse to fall in love with him, who was not handsome and was in a sad state, desperate and almost dead. There was nothing interesting about him at that moment. A deep sense of admiration for Leries began to grow and take root in Perry's heartstrings, not only as a skilled nurse, but he also admired Leries as a woman, especially as she was a woman who gave him attention when he was at the lowest point of his life, in an inappropriate condition. Perry realized that if he got love from a woman like this, her love would be truly genuine, something that is rarely found.

Leries actually hated Perry all this time. Leries knows Perry well because she was once taught by Perry, who replaced his teacher because Perry was a smart student. That's when she realized that even though Perry was also Batak like Leries, Perry didn't like hanging out with Batak women.

Since then he began to stop thinking about himself more and more. When Leries comes to visit, it's as if his enthusiasm is full again. They told each other a lot not only about Perry's illness but also other things that caught their attention out there. Finally, his condition improved and the doctor allowed him to go home. This did not distance the two of them, instead they met more often outside the hospital.

In his heart, Perry began to feel the throbbing of longing if he didn't see each other for a certain time. They regularly travel together to church, youth meetings and so on. Finally, Perry had the courage to declare that his admiration for Leries had turned into love, and told her he wanted to live with her. Thank God, because Leries also felt the same way, and responded positively to Perry's statement of love.

He felt that God had sent down a light of hope through Leries, by showing her as Perry's companion and future wife, and another thing that happened after he was with Leries was that he stopped thinking about changing his fate to become a midwife or something else, and made up his mind to become a Christian nurse.
